Regional Development Australia Mid West Gascoyne has six themes that guide our programs and decision making.
We work with organisations to provide programs that bring the business community together and provide opportunities for learning and connection with industry organisations. Regional Development Australia Mid West Gascoyne has hosted events with AusIndustry and has a strong relationship with the Chambers of Commerce throughout the region.
Innovation and Entrepreneurship
We are partnering with local secondary schools and the Just Start It organisation to run an in-school program where students develop their own digital start-up business.
We are always exploring opportunities that improve supply chain efficiencies and regional self-sufficiency. Our program includes: skilled migration; opportunities for collaboration between the mining and resources sector and local business; regional tourism clusters; and the way forward for pastoral production in the Southern Rangelands.
Whether it be priority freight roads, local roads, land or sea tourist infrastructure Regional Development Australia Mid West Gascoyne participates in working groups and partnerships that allow priority setting and the progress of feasibility studies and business cases.
Grants and Programs
There is always a huge demand for grants. We disseminate information on federal grants and provide support to grant applications. At the same time, we work at a local level to help local community groups build the capacity to identify suitable grants and understand the grant application process.
Our wide networks give us access to a rich source of information on the region which is passed on to local, state and federal government. If we do not know something, then we will reach out to gain a better understanding.
The Regional Strategy
Regional Development Australia Mid West Gascoyne works with key stakeholders - including the Mid West and Gascoyne Development Commissions, local governments and Australia's Indian Ocean Territories to contribute to and adopt a strategic plan for the region.
