More than $1.7 million across 7 Durack regional airports will benefit from grants under Round 2 of the Morrison Government’s Regional Airports Program.
Federal Member for Durack, the Hon. Melissa Price said the grants are vital to assist local regional communities maintain infrastructure and safety standards.
Ms Price said, “These grants will fund projects like upgrading firefighting operations, expansion of helipads, runway fencing and the installation of solar lights, that will improve the safety of aircraft, operators and passengers, the delivery of goods and services and better meet the operational requirements of aeromedical and other emergency services across Durack.”

The Hon Nola Marino, Assistant Minister for Regional Development and Territories communicated her appreciation for Regional Development Australia in the House of Representatives on the 4th August.
"When COVID first hit, 53 different RDAs linked in with me three times a week to feed direct information about what was happening right around this great nation and what was happening on the ground. Those 53 volunteer organisations contributed three times a week in the early stages of COVID—and still are now, and that information goes through to each relative portfolio area—and also provided relevant advice to the national cabinet when it was relevant in that space".

The $1.29 billion Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) supports the Australian Government's commitment to create jobs, drive economic growth and build stronger regional communities into the future. The fund invests in projects located in, or benefiting eligible areas outside the major capital cities of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, and Canberra.
Grant funding is available through two funding streams.
