Local community groups have the opportunity to play a part in celebrations for the Jubilee of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II as the Australian Government marks the Queens 70 years of service with grants to plant trees in her honour.
The Planting Trees for The Queen’s Jubilee Program is one of a range of national and community events planned by the Australian Government to celebrate The Queen’s Jubilee year. Grants from $2,500 to $20,000 will be available to a broad range of organisations and eligible groups and organisations in the electorate of Durack are invited to apply. Go to https://www.melissapricemp.com.au/grants for Application guidelines and an Expression of Interest (EOI) form. The closing date for EOI submissions is 5pm, Friday the 11th of March 2022. Suitable projects must include formal commemorative events in 2022 to mark the Jubilee, plantings of regionally-appropriate tree species, and installation of commemorative signage or plaques.

The Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman (ASBFEO) Bruce Billson is conducting an inquiry into Small Business Natural Disaster Preparedness and Resilience.
As part of the inquiry, the Ombudsman will engage with relevant stakeholders, including small businesses, as well as their advisers and representatives, and with government and other relevant organisations. From February 2022, Ombudsman Bruce Billson is set to visit natural disaster-hit areas across the country seeking vital on-the-ground feedback.
