Giving you a Hand with Grants
Completing funding applications can be a relatively easy or very involved task. When you undertake a grant application, you will need to collect and summarise all aspects related to the project. This can involve having external studies such as options, design, costing, economic impact and feasibility studies completed at your expense.
We have collected a few resources and ideas to assist you with your next grant application.

Find the right opportunity
Do your research and find out the details of the grant well ahead of the due date. Ensure that you are eligible to apply. It is worth getting in touch with the grant provider to find out details and gain an understanding about how your project may fit in with their objectives.
We have recently released the RDA Grants Portal to help make it easier to search for grant opportunities (rdawa.grantguru.com.au). Other websites to support your search are: grants.gov.au, business.gov.au, wa.gov.au and Department of Communities. Other sources of advertised grants include our Regional Development Australia Mid West Gascoyne office, your local development commission or local shire/city. They may be advertised on social media, newspaper or on their own organisation's website.

Read and understand the application
Grant applications can be lengthy but it is important that you understand all the requirements. Consider what additional information you could provide that may evidence the potential success of your project, need within the community and/or ability to enhance quality of life. Gather and/or conduct the research to support your application. Get quotes for the work that needs to be completed without inflating it. Consider what work you may be able to have done 'in-kind' to include in your application.
If you need assistance or guidance, the team at Regional Development Australia Mid West Gascoyne can help. Please get in touch. |
